Shanna received her Ph.D in School Psychology at the University of Washington and completed an APA- accredited internship in Clinical Psychology at UNC School of Medicine- Chapel Hill. She then went on to complete her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology at the University of Washington’s Center for Human Development and Disability.
Shanna specializes in infant mental health and early childhood, parent coaching, developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, executive functioning, and working with families in foster and adoptive communities. She has worked in a wide array of clinical, educational, and research settings, including Seattle Children’s Hospital (Autism Clinic and Inpatient Psychiatric Unit), UNC Medical Center (Pediatric Inpatient Unit, Developmental Disabilities Clinic, Women’s Mood Disorders Clinic) and multiple school districts in Washington, North Carolina, and internationally. Her greatest passions are evidence based, systems-focused interventions that extend beyond 1:1 work to include the familial and educational systems surrounding each child. To this end, Shanna co-directs The Incredible Years® Program for families of children with challenging behaviors and is a certified TEACCH consultant, collaboratively creating structured learning environments for students with ASD across Washington State.
Shanna is committed to making meaningful connections by creating a warm, collaborative environment in which evidence-based practice can be translated to the reality of her clients’ everyday lives.
