My Practice

Dr. Alex Eichenbaum (he/him) received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Washington State University. He completed his clinical internship in the Kaiser Permanente Addiction Medicine department in Walnut Creek, CA, and his postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente San Rafael, CA. Dr. Eichenbaum enjoys working with adults coping with anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and the impacts of surviving past traumas. He emphasizes a collaborative, strength-based approach that values and affirms each person’s unique identity and culture.

Dr. Eichenbaum tailors treatment to your specific needs using an integrative approach to therapy. He draws from a number of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), and mindfulness techniques. Dr. Eichenbaum most often employs exposure-based treatments to address various forms of anxiety (e.g. Exposure and Response Prevention for panic attacks) and other symptoms caused by traumatic experiences (e.g.Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD). He has also received training in behavioral treatments for substance use disorders and eating disorders.

Dr. Eichenbaum is licensed to provide psychological services to California and Washington State residents. Outside of clinical practice, he teaches undergraduate psychology courses at his alma mater.
