My Practice

Leah Brown is a dedicated professional with a profound interest in human development and behavior. Her academic journey, a Bachelor's degree in Human Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2000), and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Chicago (2005) helped develop her commitment to understanding individual internal worlds, interpersonal relationships and fostering emotional well-being.

Over the past two decades, Leah has accumulated extensive counseling experience within a diverse range of educational settings, working closely with children, teens and adults. As a school counselor and licensed clinical social worker, she has adeptly guided families through myriad developmental milestones and challenges.

Leah's passion is supporting children, teens and young adults in their journeys of self-discovery, particularly when navigating emotional health concerns, relationship dynamics, and social integration. Her expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of issues, including anxiety, depression, body image, ADHD, family system transitions, grief and loss, and gender/sexual identity exploration. In addition to her private practice, Leah has most recently served as a valued member of the counseling staff at The Bush School in Seattle. An additional area of interest is assisting educational professionals with workplace challenges such as burnout and boundary setting.

With training in multiple therapeutic modalities, Leah is exceptionally prepared to facilitate transformative conversations with clients. She is particularly interested in the application of Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, expressive arts, self compassion, and other strengths-based approaches emphasizing the mind-body connection. When choosing to work with Leah, clients can expect compassion, patience, humor, and a nonjudgmental approach.
