My Practice

Hello! My name is Dr. Sydney Iverson, and I am excited to share my expertise and experiences with you to determine if I may be a good fit for you or your child in therapy.

My treatment focus is centered around the individual needs of each person, helping people to overcome barriers and challenges that interfere with having a fulfilling, healthy life. I work to authentically connect with each person in therapy, to build the necessary trust and alliance for them to grow and succeed. I believe that every person carries strengths that can be built on in therapy, to help form more positive habits, more genuine relationships, and new skills for a successful life. 

I have received extensive training in cognitive behavioral treatments and enjoy adapting these treatment approaches to the many challenges that can arise in life. I am particularly skilled at providing exposure-based treatments, spending my postdoctoral year specializing in exposure treatments for OCD and anxiety. I additionally enjoy supporting parents toward becoming the parents they want to be. Through evidence-based behavioral parent training, I help parents to learn skills that foster healthy, loving relationships with their children.

Though my training and experience with children and families is broad, and I enjoy working with a variety of individuals, I have strong interest in treating anxiety, fears, obsessions and compulsions. I love helping people learn to face their fears, so that they gain confidence in their strength. I encourage people to overcome their avoidance of feared situations to move toward a more gratifying life.
